CrownMinute's own code does not collect, transmit, or share any personal data, and the app's own features work fully offline. The one network-capable part is the Google Play Billing library bundled for the optional purchase, which logs its own diagnostic events to Google (see below).
None by the app itself. CrownMinute's own code does not collect personal information. It has no analytics of its own (no analytics SDK), no advertising and no accounts, and its own code makes no network connections. The one thing collected at all is the Google Play Billing library's diagnostics:
datatransport
component it depends on) and logs diagnostic events about its own billing operations to Google, under
the same policy. Your settings, reading position and quiz answers are never part of them. The app stores a small amount of preference data in its local app storage:
When you set up a new phone, Android 12+ device-to-device transfer can copy ordinary app settings across — your selected language, the "Full translation" mode, and your browsing position (including whether the Life in the UK focus is switched on) — directly between your own two devices, with no server involved. The focus is a premium feature, so a transferred "on" only takes effect once Google Play restores the purchase on the new device. The purchase state, the quiz records and the widget's own device state are deliberately excluded from that transfer, so an entitlement is never carried over, neither is any record of what you read or answered, and neither is the note of whether this phone has already seen the exact-alarm prompt — your new phone decides that for itself.
The app itself never transmits this data, and the developer has no way to access it. The release
build disables Android system backup (android:allowBackup="false"), so these preferences
are never copied to any cloud, and uninstalling the app removes them from that device. Where the
transfer above has already copied settings to a new phone, that copy lives on the new phone
independently and is removed by uninstalling the app there.
The app's own permissions:
SCHEDULE_EXACT_ALARM) — used only to update
the optional home-screen widget on time. If not granted, the widget still updates, just approximately.RECEIVE_BOOT_COMPLETED) — used only to restore the
widget's scheduled update after the device restarts.Added by Google libraries the app uses:
com.android.vending.BILLING), internet access
(INTERNET) and network state (ACCESS_NETWORK_STATE) — used by the
Google Play Billing library for the optional purchase and its diagnostic logging described above.WAKE_LOCK) — used by Android's WorkManager library while it
runs the app's background work: the periodic widget refresh, and finishing the acknowledgement of a
purchase with Google Play.FOREGROUND_SERVICE) — declared by WorkManager for
apps that need it. CrownMinute's own work never runs as a foreground service.None of these permissions is used by the app's own code to collect or transmit data.
The app is suitable for general audiences. Its own code collects no data from anyone, children included; the Billing library's diagnostic logging described above is Google's.
If this policy changes, the updated version will be posted at this URL with a new “Last updated” date.
